Anesthesia and Surgery

Here at the Stittsville Small Animal Clinic our goal is to provide our patients with the utmost care. When it comes to surgery and anesthesia as a team we are very passionate and ensure our patients are looked after closely and carefully, ensuring they are comfortable throughout their stay. Surgery and anesthesia is forever changing with new innovations so our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff attend continuing educations seminars on a regular basis to stay on top of the newest protocols, equipment and procedures. The seminars also increase our knowledge and improve our skills, providing your pet with the most current veterinary medicine techniques. Our Veterinarians are trained in performing routine and non-routine surgical procedures. These procedures include elective procedures like spays and neuters. Our non-routine procedures would be, for example a laceration repair. We are fortunate to have a relationship with two mobile Board Certified Veterinarians for pets requiring a specialized surgery.

There are many methods of performing diagnostic procedures, whether it may be to take an x-ray, perform a minor surgical procedure, or a more involved surgery. We complete these procedures using a variety of techniques including sedation, local anesthetics and/or a general anesthetic. These procedures are tailored to meet the needs of each individual pet.
