Why do some veterinary hospitals charge such different prices for the same procedure(s)?

The Ontario Veterinary Medical Association sets guidelines for all veterinary fees and services. These fees are largely based on clinic expenses and geographic location.  Fees may appear to vary from clinic to clinic based on what is included in a procedure. For example, intravenous fluids, pain medication, monitoring equipment and a dedicated technician may be included in the cost at one clinic and charged separately or not available at another.
