A veterinary technician is trained to assist veterinarians in caring for pets. These professionals perform many of the same tasks that a nurse would for a doctor. Our Veterinary technicians have received training from accredited programs. Responsibilities in our clinic include the collection of patient samples (blood/urine), performing laboratory tests, assisting during patient exams, assisting in surgery, anesthetic monitoring, dental cleanings with full mouth dental radiographs and performing radiographs. Senior techs also train and mentor other staff members. For more information on Registered Veterinary Technicians visit OAVT.org.
